Grade 7 - Mathematics 9.17 Perimeter of the Trapezoid

Example:
The sides of a Trapezoid ABCD are 15 cm, 9 cm, 12 cm and 8 cm. Find its perimeter.

Solution: Perimeter of the Trapezoid (P) = S_{1} + S_{2} + S_{3} + S_{4}
Where P is the perimeter of the Trapezoid and S_{1}, S_{2}, S_{3} and S_{4} are the sides of the trapezoid.
Given that,
S_{1} = 15 cm, S_{2} = 9 cm, S_{3} = 12 cm and S_{4} = 8 cm
P = 15 + 9 + 12 + 8
P = 44 cm.

Directions: Read the above example carefully and answer the following questions. Also draw 10 different trapezoids and find their perimeters.
