Grade 8 - Mathematics 7.29 Special Products: (a+b)^{3} = a^{3}+3a^{2}b+3ab^{2}+b^{3}

Formula : (a+b)^{3} = a^{3}+3a^{2}b+3ab^{2}+b^{3}

Example:
Expand (2x+y)^{3} . Solution:
Using above formula, Let a = 2x and b = y in the above equation
(a+b)^{3} = (2x+y)^{3}
= (2x)^{3}+3(2x)^{2}y+3(2x)y^{2}+y^{3}
= 8x^{3}+12x^{2}y+6xy^{2}+y^{3}
