
Ungrouped Data (Raw Data): A data set consisting of the observations for some variable is referred to as raw data or ungrouped data. The statistical mean is commonly called the average. To find the mean of a group of numbers:
Find the mean of 3, 6, 11, and 8. Add all the numbers, and divide by the number of numbers in the list, which is 4. (3 + 6 + 11 + 8)/ 4 = 7 Therefore, the mean of these four numbers is 7.
