Example: a number less than ten x < 10 two less than a number x  2 An equation or algebraic equation is a sentence. We have to solve an equation to find the value or solution. It has a relation symbol "equal to". Example: Ten is five less than a number. 10 = x  5 An Inequation is also a sentence with a greater than or less than sign.
