Grade 3 - English Language 2.10 Punctuation: Periods
Rules for using the period (.):
Any sentence that makes a statement or a request ends with a period. A period (or full stop) at the end of a sentence acts like a stop sign for the reader to pause. Examples:
Please close the door. Bob closed the door.
An initial and an abbreviation of a title end with a period. Examples:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Mr. Micheal Jordan
