There are three types of adjectives to describe the level of a quality or a property. These are positive, comparative, and superlative adjectives.

Positive adjectives are plain adjectives. They do not compare anything.
Example:
The tall tree. ('tall' is the positive adjective)

A few more positive adjectives are:
small
big
loud
happy
mean
tall

Comparative adjectives compare two items or things.
Example:
Jack is taller than Jill.

More examples of comparative adjectives are:
smaller
bigger
louder
happier
meaner
taller

Superlative adjective tell us that the noun has the highest level of a quality.
Examples:
A. J. is the tallest boy in the class.

More examples of superlative adjectives are: funniest
brightest
sweetest


Directions: In the following sentences, the form of the underlined adjective is incorrect. Write the correct form. Write at least five more examples each for positive, comparative, and superlative adjectives. As a homework, read a story book and find sentences containing positive, comparative, and superlative adjectives; and write the sentences on a sheet of paper and underline the adjectives.
