Rational number is a number of the form a/b, where a and b are integers, and b is not equal to zero.
We denote the set of rational numbers by "Q".
As the name suggest Rational numbers are made of Ratio's.
Examples:
5/7, 96/5, 2635/56, ..... are examples of rational numbers.
59/0, 96/0, 89/0, .... are not rational numbers, because the denominator is zero.
