
Mixed Fraction (or Mixed Number) has a whole number and a fraction. Example: 3 1/2
NOTE: The operation in between the integer and fractional part in a mixed number is addition, not multiplication!
Improper Fraction is a fraction in which the numerator is greater than the denominator. Converting mixed number to improper fraction: Example: Convert 2 7/2 into improper fraction. Improper Fraction = {(Whole number * Denominator) + Numerator}/Denominator. i.e., 2 7/2 = {(2*2) + 7}/2 = (4 + 7)/2 = 11/2.
