
Definition: In general, ax^{n}+bx^{n1}+.............+px+q (a is not equal to zero) is called a polynomial of degree n.
Here the coefficients are either integers, rationals or both.
Example: 3x^{2}+9x^{3}+6x^{5}, find the degree of the polynomial. Solution: The degree of terms in the above equation are 2, 3, 5 respectively. The greatest among these is 5. Hence the given polynomial is of degree 5. Directions: Find the degrees of polynomials for the following problems. Also write at least 10 examples of polynomials and their degrees.
