Example: Find the zero of the polynomial ax+b.

Solution: We want to find the value of x, for which ax+b=0. In other words, zero of ax+b is obtained by solving the equation ax+b=0.
ax+b=0
ax = -b
x = -b/a
Therefore, the zero of the polynomial is -b/a.
