### Grade 7 - Mathematics4.18 Division of a Monomial by a Monimal - I

Division Rule:
Dividend = Quotient * Divisor + Remainder, which is true for every division is called 'Division rule'.

Note:

1. Only multinomial of higher degree can be divided by a multinomial of lower degree.
2. That is division of p(x) by g(x) is possible only if degree of p(x) ≥ degree of  g(x).
3. The process of division stops as soon as the remainder is zero or the degree of the remainder becomes less than that of the divisor.
Example: 36x3 ๗ 9x2 = _____?
Solution :
 36x3 3 * 3 * 2 * 2 * x * x * x = 9x2 3 * 3 * x * x

= 2 * 2 * x

= 4x
