Solution:
Let x = 2.29 = 2.299999.........I
Multiply equation I by 100 on both sides, we get
100x = 229.99999..........II
Multiply equation I by 10 on both sides, we get
10x = 22.99........III
Subtracting II from III, we get
90x = 207
x = 207/90
x = 23/10
x = 2.3
