9.12 Length of the Sector

Example:
The radius of a circle is 28 cm, an arc AB subtends an angle of 75 at the centre O. Find the length of the arc AB.

Solution:
Given that,
r = 28 cm and x = AOB = 75.
The length of arc AB = x/360 * 2pr
= 75/360 * 2 * 22/7 * 28
= 13200/360
= 110/3
= 36 2/3 cm.
